He now faces five charges, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and firing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle.

On Saturday, jurors asked Judge Russell Healey three questions: Is the defense of self-defense separate for each person in each count? The answer: yes. Are we determining if deadly force is justified against each person in each count? The answer: yes. And if we determine deadly force is justified against one person, is it justified against the other? The answer: no. (Via CNN)

Legal analysts say the questions asked by jurors could “indicate they may be deadlocked on at least one of the five charges” according to The Christian Science Monitor.

MSNBC spoke with attorney John Burris about what else the jury needs to mull over.

ATTY. JOHN BURRIS: “Whether or not he had a reasonable belief that his life was in danger therefore can use self defense. Number two you have the whole question about him leaving the scene is that evidence of guilt of some kind.”

Dunn could face life in prison if he is convicted of first-degree murder.
