Oregon Gov. Kate Brown says she'll say no if President Donald Trump instructs agencies to dispatch her state's National Guard to the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trumpsigned a proclamationWednesday directing the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and state governors to work togetherin deploying units.

Trumpwants increased border security until his so-called border wall is built. To that, Brown said Wednesday, "As Commander of Oregon's Guard, I'm deeply troubled by Trump's plan to militarize our border."

Trump has not asked Oregon to deploy its guard, and he may not. Brown acknowledged this while simultaneously suggesting his announcement is a tool to distract from troubles in the White House.
