The U.S. military is reducing the number of troops it has in Iraq after authorities there declared victory over ISIS militants last year.
A spokesperson for the Iraqi government told the Associated Press and Reuters Monday the process is still in early stages.
But a spokesperson for the U.S.-led international coalition wouldn't confirm or deny to either outlet that a drawdown is taking place.
According to the Pentagon, the U.S. had more than 5,000 troops in Iraq late last year.
