Police broke up a house party with rampant underage drinking in Naples, Florida early Tuesday. That much is routine. But who they found hiding in one of the bedrooms is a little surprising.

WFTX reports police reportedly called Carolyn, the 56-year-old mother, and she said she wasn’t home but gave police permission to clear out the party.

But shortly after, police found her hiding in a bedroom. They also found alcohol and marijuana in the house.

Weinand said she knew about the alcohol at the party but didn’t admit to buying anything. As for why she did it, WZVN reports she thought she was keeping all her daughter's friends safe by having the party there and not allowing them to drive after drinking.”

And Naples Daily News says while police were at the scene, Weinand continued to defend her actions.

WPTV reports both Weinand and her daughter were arrested and face charges related to providing alcohol to minors.
