Nevada brothel owner and GOP legislative candidate Dennis Hof died Tuesday morning at the age of 72.
The Nye County Sheriff's Office confirmed Hof was found dead at the Love Ranch in Nevada. It served as one of the settings for the HBO series "Cathouse," which followed Hof's exploits as a legal pimp.
He was a vocal advocate for legal prostitution.
"The prostitution business worldwide is a dirty, disgusting, drug-ridden, exploitive, disease-ridden business, till you legalize it."
Hof was running for a seat in the Nevada State Assembly in November after winning the GOP primary in June.
