New Jersey is giving new parents a helping hand by providing them with a box filled with essential child care items that also doubles as a crib for babies to sleep in.
The baby box program stems from a program that's been popular in Finland since the 1930s.
Every box comes with around $150 in supplies, like diapers, wipes and a onesie. The baby box program will provide around 100,000 boxes in 2017 to help cut down on the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, or SIDS.
The Baby Box Co. said the program could continue on into the future if it becomes popular.
