“The Greatest” is gone. Legendary boxer Muhammad Ali died Friday night in a Phoenix hospital. Ali was known, not just for his success in the ring, but also for outspokenness and his courageous, decades-long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was 74.
125,000 people gathered in Hong Kong Saturday to pay tribute to the hundreds killed in Tiananmen Square Massacre. Twenty-seven years ago this weekend, the government cracked down on protesters seeking economic and political change. Attendance at this year’s vigil was lower than previous years. Student groups split from this year’s vigil over disagreements with the organizers.
And it was a disappointing day for tennis star Serena Williams. She fell to Garbine Muguruza in the French Open Finals. Williams was looking for her 22nd Grand Slam title. She would have tied Steffi Graf’s Open-era record.
