The most popular baby names of 2013 are in — and it looks like an old favorite for boys has been booted from the top of the list.
NBC's "Today" show got an exclusive look at the Social Security Administration's annual ranking.
"For boys, Noah tops the list. OK, that's for the very first time."

We're thinking that might have something to do with the ending of the "Twilight" movie franchise in November 2012 — naming your child after a werewolf just doesn't seem "in" anymore. (Via Summit Entertainment / "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2")
But Noah's big jump is still surprising to some baby name experts. One told NBC there doesn't seem to be any major pop culture influence that would cause such a spike in use.
Sure, the Russell Crowe flick with the same title did fairly well at the box office, but Noah was already at the top of the list before the movie hit theaters. (Via Paramount Pictures / "Noah")

Now, onto the ladies.
Sophia managed to stay on top for the third year in a row — maybe because of the popularity of pint-sized pop stars such as Sophia Grace Brownlee? (Via SGE Records / Sophia Grace Brownlee)
And the rest of the girls' top five didn't change too much — Emma came in at No. 2, followed by Olivia, Isabella and Ava. (Via Wikimedia Commons / jmickye)
So guess "Twilight" still has some lasting power with Bella. The annual baby name list is made up of all Social Security card applications for each year. There were approximately 4 million births in 2013.
