Cory and Carrie Shields were married in a galaxy far, far away. It was a land called San Diego, and their ring bearer was a friend from Star Wars.

Cory and Carrie Shields, as you can see from these photos from Unveiled Wedding Photography, are one with the force. Two years after they exchanged vows in a Star Wars-themed ceremony, those pics are going viral.

Or as KGTV puts it: "More proof that the Internet is a crazy place where anything can pop up out of relative obscurity and cause a buzz."

The galactic nuptials, which even had R2-D2 as the ring bearer, took place in the far, far away galaxy of San Diego.

That R2 unit they got came from Astromech. It's comprised of fans that build droids like R2. Cory posted in a forum asking if anyone had a droid available for his wedding and got four replies.

The couple boogied like wookiees — not at the Mos Eisley Cantina but at the Admiral Kidd Club. It's conveniently located at a naval base so all of their intergalactic friends could park their Millennium Falcons and attend.

The couple met while they were both on a Disney college internship. Sounds like nerd paradise.

It was after Cory told Carrie that her favorite character, Boba Fett, didn't die, but actually crawled out of the Sarlacc Pit, that she decided it was love. (Video via Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation / "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi")
