Call it road rage karma — a Florida man run over by his own truck after getting out to bang on another driver's window.
Police say this man, 48-year-old Joseph Carl, drove into another vehicle that was stopped at a red light in Gainesville Tuesday night. (Via Gainesville Police Department)
According to The Gainesville Sun, Carl didn't put his truck in park before he got out to confront the driver of the other vehicle. And when the driver got scared and drove away, Carl's truck began to roll — and he happened to be right in its path.
When police arrived on the scene, Carl refused medical attention. But he was taken to a local hospital anyway, where he was found to have a blood-alcohol level of .22 — nearly three times the legal limit in Florida. (Via WCJB)
With that much alcohol in his system, it's not too surprising Carl wasn't in visible pain after being run over by his own truck.
According to a study from the National Institutes of Health, the equivalent of two cocktails can produce tolerance to pain that's comparable to a small amount of morphine.
And, unfortunately, we've seen this in action before. A North Dakota man managed to fall out of his car and run himself over after a night of drinking back in June. (Via KXMC)
As for Carl, he's facing charges of DUI and DUI property damage. It's unclear if he has a lawyer yet.
