If you're planning to donate to LeVar Burton's "Reading Rainbow" Kickstarter campaign, well, just a like a butterfly in the sky, your contribution could go ... twice as high!

That's because Seth MacFarlane, the creator of "Family Guy," has promised to match every donation made over the next five days, up to $1 million, with his own money. (Via Flickr / Gage Skidmore)

Burton, the former "Reading Rainbow" host and executive producer, launched the campaign earlier this summer to bring the iconic PBS show to the Web. (Via Kickstarter)

"Seth, this donation is going to help us ensure that his next generation is indeed a generation that loves to read. ... You've got deep pockets, baby, but you've got an even bigger heart." (Via RRKidz / Reading Rainbow)

The campaign has already raised more than $4 million. After the overwhelming response, Burton set a stretch goal of $5 million, which he said would bring "Reading Rainbow" to multiple platforms and 7,500 classrooms. If the campaign hits $5 million before its July 2 end date, MacFarlane's contribution could bring the total to $6 million, which would add an additional 5,000 classrooms. (Via Kickstarter)

This isn't MacFarlane's first educational venture. He is also an executive producer on Neil deGrasse Tyson's science documentary series "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey."
