Justin Timberlake performed with a projection of Prince during Sunday's Super Bowl Halftime Show, and some Prince fans are not happy.
During the tribute, Timberlake sang one of Prince's songs on a purple stage with a huge projection of the artist in the background. At one point in the performance, parts of Minneapolis, Prince's hometown, lit up purple.
There were rumors JT would appear on stage alongside a hologram of Prince, but that was squashed by a friend of Prince's ahead of the game.
Still, some Prince fans weren't shy about sharing their disappointment on social media. One user said "Even in death, Prince continues to be misunderstood."
JT fans, however, tweeted their approval of the show. Ellen DeGeneres said he "just killed it."
