The Roswell Police Department confirmed the shooting in a post on its Facebook page and cautioned parents not to go to the school while it's on lockdown.
Police told Fox News at least three people were injured in the shooting.
While NBC tweeted at least two of those victims were minors and had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Local media outlets are reporting students are being bused from the school to a nearby mall where their parents can pick them up. (Via KOB-TV)
This incident comes less than a month after a gunman opened fire at Arapahoe High School in Colorado.
