There's never going to be another Hurricane Maria.
That's because the World Meteorological Organization is retiring the name Maria — as well as Harvey, Irma and Nate — from its rotating list used for Atlantic hurricanes and tropical storms.
The group retires names when hurricanes end up being super destructive or deadly. It's why there's never been another Hurricane Katrina since 2005.
Storm name lists repeat every six years, meaning those used during the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season won't be used again until 2023.
The names Harold, Idalia, Margot and Nigel will replace the four that were just retired.
The first Atlantic hurricane name on this year's list is Alberto.
