Think Super Mario, but instead of the plumber, throw in North Korea's dictator and rather than Koopa Troopas, you're fighting American capitalism.
That's what you get in "Glorious Leader!" — a new retro-style video game from Atlanta-based Moneyhorse. The company teased the game this week in a delightfully tongue-in-cheek trailer.
Gameplay includes North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un riding a unicorn, shooting up tanks and defending the streets of Pyongyang from American invaders.
Moneyhorse games made the satire element crystal clear in a post introducing the trailer, writing: "The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea commands you to know that the capitalistic pigs at Moneyhorse LLC, are developing Glorious Leader! , an epic tale about the triumph of Kim Jong Un over the entire American army."
Since his father's death in 2011, Kim has served as the leader of the so-called hermit nation, known for massive poverty levels, human rights violations and vehement anti-Americanism. (Via Sky News)
The CEO of Moneyhorse games tells The Guardian his team has tried to "carefully walk the line of satire without being an apologist for the regime." He also says he's surprised by how little negative backlash his company has received.
But given the game's controversial subject matter, don't expect that to hold.

Oh, and one more twist: Kim Jong-Un will be getting a little help in this virtual venture — from his self-described "friend for life" Dennis Rodman. The two met during the filming of a Vice documentary.
Yes, the former NBA superstar also makes a cameo in the "Glorious Leader!" trailer with what looks like a machine gun slung over his shoulder. Here's hoping for a multiplayer option.
Moneyhorse hasn't given a release date yet, but the game will eventually be available on PC and mobile devices.
