The prime minister of Sudan says he is doing well after an attack on his motorcade Monday.

Local media report that Abdalla Hamdok was traveling to his office in the country's capital when his motorcade was hit with explosives and gunfire. A security officer was reportedly injured.

On Twitter, Hamdok posted photos of himself smiling and wrote, "I assure the Sudanese people that I am well and completely healthy. What happened will not stop the march of change and will only be an additional splash in the high wave of the revolution."

The attack comes as the country undergoes a transition to civilian rule, following the ousting of the country's former president in April 2019. Investigations into the attack and who might be behind it are reportedly underway.
