China is poised to purchase U.S. soybeans and pork amid an ongoing trade war.

There is not a lot of information about the purchase, but a spokesman for China's ministry of Congress told the AP it will be of "considerable scale."

Earlier this month, China eased punitive tariffs on some agricultural products, including soybeans and pork.

Another round of high-level trade negotiations between the two sides is expected to take place in Washington in October.
