Elon Musk Is Sending Engineers To Help With Thailand Cave Rescue

Musk has a few ideas about how to rescue the 12 boys and their coach stuck in a cave in Thailand.

Elon Musk says he's sending engineers from SpaceX and his Boring Company to help rescue a soccer team trapped in a cave in Thailand.

Musk made the announcement Thursday on Twitter. The Thai government confirmed the plan Friday.

Twelve boys and their soccer coach are trapped in a cave in northern Thailand after tunnels became flooded while they were in the cavern. They were discovered safe on Monday, but rescuers haven't come up with a way to get them out yet.

Musk made a couple suggestions on Twitter. He said the Boring Company was "pretty good at digging holes." He also suggested creating an artificial tunnel through the cave with inflated nylon tubing that the kids could crawl through.

Musk's help comes at a critical time. Thai officials say there's a "limited amount of time" left to get the boys and their coach out of the cave. Lack of oxygen has become a big concern after a former Thai Navy SEAL died Friday in the cave after falling unconscious underwater.
