Hong Kong's pro-democracy lawmakers held a final protest before resigning today.

Fifteen legislators handed in their resignation letters, following up on a promise to step down after Beijing removed four others who support Hong Kong's independence.

The legislative council is now left with 43 lawmakers. Forty-one are considered pro-establishment.
