The people of South Korea, Guam, Japan and more are well within range for North Korea to attack should Kim Jong-un decide his regime is threatened. The North is well-known for saber-rattling, but the rhetoric has intensified in recent months with new North Korean missile tests and threats traded between Kim and President Donald Trump.

Newsy's talked with several experts — including Alex Horton of The Washington PostJean Lee of the Wilson Center and Cecile Shea of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs — about tension in the region. Lee is the former Pyongyang bureau chief for The Associated Press, and Shea served as a U.S. diplomat for more than two decades.
