One day after Tanauan City's mayor was fatally shot in the Philippines, the mayor of General Tinio was also shot and killed.

Mayor Ferdinand Bote was shot several times through his vehicle's window by a person on a motorcycle Tuesday. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Just over 24 hours before, Mayor Antonio Halili was shot dead by a single bullet while attending a flag-raising ceremony, according to CNN.

Halili was known for for his tough stance on crime. He was criticized for parading suspected drug dealers through the streets.

Motives for either killing have not been released, and police have not confirmed whether the two are linked.
