Bets Are On To Predict Royal Baby Name

British betting company Ladbrokes held a corgi race to choose what the royal baby name is most likely going to be.

Betting over the new royal baby's name is on! Especially now that Kate Middleton has announced she'll be giving birth sometime in mid to late April.

British online betting company Ladbrokes probably takes the cake, though, when it comes to the cutest way to determine the new little royal's name.

It hosted what it called the "first-ever royal Corgi race." Each one of the 10 dogs sported a potential baby name.

"And they're off! It's a fast start from Boris. There comes Victoria from the other side. Alexandra — the winner!" the Ladbrokes announcer said.

So Ladbrokes' official prediction is that Kate will give birth to a baby girl named Alexandra next month. The name Camilla came in as a close second.

The company has a whole page on its site devoted to various bets on the royal baby's sex, name, date of birth and the day of the week he or she will be born.

Ever since the royal palace broke the news Kate and William were expecting baby No. 2 back in September, many people have been scrambling to get their name suggestions out there.

Like a writer for baby name website Nameberry who offered up Albert, Charlotte, Frederick and more as possibilities — all suggestions that have some history within the British royal family.

And many news outlets hope if it turns out to be a little princess that she'll be named Elizabeth Diana Windsor after William's late mother, Princess Diana.

Ladbrokes seems to agree. It predicts the name Elizabeth has 5-1 odds of being chosen if Kate has a girl while the name James has an 8-1 chance if the baby is a little prince.
