Spanish National Police have arrested 81 people suspected of distributing child pornography in a massive nationwide crackdown.

Police announced the arrests Saturday. It appears the task force targeted possible distributors.

But the police press release did say along with 96 hard drives, 58 computers and more, they also seized three cameras and are investigating whether any of the seized material was used to produce child porn.

The release called the thousands of seized images "extremely harsh."

Investigators believe the suspects were using file sharing peer-to-peer networks. Of the 81 arrested, police said all were males and two were minors. More than 300 agents were part of the crackdown, and police say the investigation began almost a year ago.
