Dutch CEO Strapped Himself To A Windmill To Make This Announcement

Dutch Railways' electric trains are now 100 percent powered by wind energy.

Why did a guy strap himself to a windmill?

Meet Roger van Boxtel. He's the CEO of Dutch Railways.

He's pretty excited about his electric trains being powered by 100 percent renewable energy.

Have you ever heard of anything more quintessentially Dutch?

The Netherlands has a long history with wind energy.

Holland alone still has more than 1,000 standing windmills, some of which date back centuries.

And the Netherlands has more than 2,200 wind turbines providing clean energy.

Dutch wind now powers thousands of train trips a day — and at least one CEO's trip around a windmill.

But the Netherlands is ranked second-to-last in the EU on renewable energy goals for 2020. Maybe that'll start to change now.
