Nicola Sturgeon, the current First Minister of Scotland and leader of the Scottish National Party chatted with Jon Stewart on The Daily Show Monday night and things got a little ... dictator-y.
"First of all, the SNP won I don't know, 56 our of 59 seats in parliament, it's unprecedented, swept away ..." Jon Stewart began on Monday's episode of The Daily Show.
Nicola Sturgeon interrupted Stewart to say, "I ordered an inquiry into how come we didn't win the other three."
"What you think you're Saddam Hussein? You get 99 percent? Fifty-six out of 59 is pretty good," he said.
"Well I think you should always aim for more," she countered.
Sturgeon was a good sport after being compared to the late Iraqi dictator, laughing the comment off.
Stewart's comment came likely in reference to Saddam's penchant for rigging elections to give himself 99 percent of the vote.
Obviously, there are plenty of differences between the two. For starters, there's the signature mustache Saddam was always sporting — something quite lacking on Sturgeon. (Videos via Scottish National Party and Latif Yahia)
Regardless of the Hussein references, the rest of the interview went off without a hitch with Stewart joking around with Sturgeon while she's in the states on a four-day trip across the pond.
A spokesman for the Scottish government told The Telegraph, Sturgeon is in the U.S. to undertake "a series of business and government meetings that will promote Scotland as an attractive place to live, visit, study and invest."
Sturgeon became the face of Scottish politics after her predecessor, Alex Salmond, resigned when a referendum for an independent Scotland failed to pass in September.
Since then, she's helped propel her party into even more popularity grabbing, as mentioned before, all but three of Scotland's parliamentary seats. (Video via Scottish National Party)
