U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May has confirmed the appointment of two new secretaries after the last ones resigned just yesterday in protest of Brexit's withdrawal agreement.

Stephen Barclay is replacing Dominic Raab as the Brexit secretary. And Amber Rudd will be the new Work and Pensions Secretary, replacing Esther McVey. McVey quickly followed Raab out the door Thursday.

Raab said Thursday that he couldn't support the agreement, writing in his resignation letter, "I cannot reconcile the terms of the proposed deal with the promises we made to the country in our manifesto at the last election. This is, at its heart, a matter of public trust."

Raab became Brexit secretary in July, replacing David Davis, who similarly resigned in protest. Davis quit over a Brexit proposal to use a "common rulebook" to allow the free trade of goods between the U.K. and the EU.

In a tweet, the new Brexit secretary said, "We now need to keep up the momentum to finalise the Withdrawal Agreement" and "deliver a Brexit that works for the whole UK."

EU member states are expected to meet Nov. 25 in Brussels to finalize the deal.
