Ireland has set a date for a historic referendum on abortion.
The government announced Wednesday the referendum will be held on May 25. The vote will decide whether a constitutional ban on most abortions will be lifted.
Back in 2013, abortions in the country were legalized under certain circumstances, like when the mother's life is at risk.
This is the first time in 35 years that voters will have a chance to overhaul the country's abortion laws.
