A member of the Kim family is visiting South Korea for the first time ever. North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un is sending his sister and adviser Kim Yo-jong to the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

She's joining a delegation that includes three other key political figures from North Korea.

South Korea said in a statement that her visit to the country shows the North's "willingness to ease tensions on the Korean peninsula."

CNN reports that the move is likely to annoy the United States, which sent Vice President Mike Pence to lead the U.S. delegation.

The opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics is set for Friday in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
