Afghan officials say they gave Pakistan evidence that militants behind recent deadly attacks in Kabul, Afghanistan, were trained in Pakistan and that some of the attacks were planned there.
Recent attacks in Afghanistan's capital have killed more than 100. The Taliban took credit. At the time, Afghan officials believed at least one of the attacks was carried out by the Haqqani network, a Taliban-affiliate group believed to be based in Pakistan.
Last night, Afghan officials made a surprise trip across the border to Islamabad to present Pakistani leaders with "undeniable evidence" of Taliban operations in Pakistan.
Citizens in Afghanistan's capital protested the Pakistani government after the announcement. The Pakistani Embassy in Kabul said it would examine the evidence for "authenticity" but said it hasn't committed to give a reply.
Pakistani officials are scheduled to travel to Kabul on Saturday.
