Not surprisingly, Iran isn't happy about U.S. sanctions snapping back.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the country is in an "economic war" with the U.S. He pledged to defy the sanctions, which largely target Iran's oil industry.
The Trump administration has given eight countries a waiver, allowing them to continue buying Iranian oil for now. Rouhani called that decision a victory for Iran.
The country's foreign minister said reimposing sanctions isolates the U.S., not Iran. On Twitter, he wrote, "US bullying is backfiring, not just because [the Iran nuclear deal] is important, but because the world can't allow Trump & Co. to destroy global order."
