The man arrested in connection with the deadly New Year's Eve nightclub attack in Istanbul has reportedly confessed.

During a news conference, Istanbul's governor identified the suspect as an Uzbekistan citizen. CNN quotes him as saying, "The terrorist actually said that he did it."

The suspect was taken into custody during a police raid in Istanbul's Esenyurt district. Authorities had been tracking him for more than two weeks.

The governor told reporters the man was arrested along with four others who officials believe helped carry out the attack "in the name of ISIS."

The extremist group has already claimed responsibility for the massacre at Reina nightclub, which left 39 people dead and dozens more injured.
