A U.S. service member in Afghanistan was killed in action Monday.
Resolute Support confirmed the death, but the person's name won't be publicly announced until after their family is notified.
The death comes about a week after President Donald Trump called off peace talks with the Taliban.
The president blamed the cancellation on the Taliban's recent attack in Kabul that killed a U.S. soldier. There have been 17 U.S. combat deaths in Afghanistan this year.
