President Trump, Kim Jong-Un Arrive In Singapore For Historic Summit

Trump arrived shortly after Kim on Sunday.

Both President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un are now in Singapore ahead of a historic summit between the two on Tuesday. The leaders arrived on Sunday.

If everything goes as planned, Trump will become the first sitting U.S. president to meet with a North Korean leader.

The road to get to this point was a bumpy one. The leaders antagonized each other for months over North Korea's growing nuclear arsenal.

And an original meeting, also set for June 12, was canceled near the end of May, only to be put back on the schedule a few days later.

The main goal of the meeting, at least for the U.S., is to reach an agreement regarding denuclearization in North Korea. But Trump and Kim may have different ideas about what that means.

Still, Trump said Saturday the summit is "a one-time shot. And I think it's going to work out very well."
