The wife of a U.S. diplomat was charged Friday with causing the death of a 19-year-old British motorcyclist.
Harry Dunn died in August after his motorcycle collided with Anne Sacoolas' car in the U.K. Authorities said she was driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the crash.
Afterwards, Sacoolas left Britain and returned to the U.S under diplomatic immunity. Now that she's been formally charged, the U.K.'s Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it has started extradition proceedings.
According to the BBC, Sacoolas' attorney said she will not voluntarily return to the U.K. "to face a potential jail sentence for what was a terrible but unintentional accident."
