The British government is reportedly considering further action against Russia over a nerve gas attack on a former spy.

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson met with his European counterparts in Brussels Monday to garner support for the U.K.'s tough stance against Russia.

The meeting came not long after Johnson accused Russia of stockpiling the nerve gas used in the March 4 attack, which left Sergei Skripal and his daughter in critical condition.

But Russia continues to deny involvement in the incident. The country's ambassador to the European Union said Sunday the poison could have come from a British laboratory.

And newly re-elected President Vladimir Putin told reporters his nation wasn't behind the attack, but he is "ready for cooperation" with the U.K.
