The past can be painful, and that's especially true for Holocaust survivors. Every year, dozens of survivors push through those painful memories to tell their stories where they happened: at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Thousands march from one concentration camp to the next to honor Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. As the number of living survivors dwindles, the urgency to share these stories grows. No future generation will know survivors. That fact is why many survivors choose to document their stories and to meet one-on-one with teens in the most traumatizing of places. They want to make sure no one forgets what happened so it will never happen again.
