The world's longest cruise just began its 245-day journey. Guinness World Records says if it completes its itinerary, it will mark the longest-ever continuous passenger cruise.
The 745-foot Viking Sun set sail from London's Greenwich Pier on Saturday. Only passengers 18 and older are allowed aboard. Its 930 guests will see six continents, over 50 countries and 111 ports.
Viking's chairman said, "For more than 20 years we have been committed to connecting travelers to culturally immersive experiences that allow them to explore the world in comfort."
The cruise will make stops in Scandinavia, the Caribbean, South America, the South Pacific, Australia, Asia and more. There will be 23 overnight stays in different cities.
Tickets for the cruise started at $92,990 per person. That price includes business class airfare, meals and an excursion in each port of call. The ship itself has 10 fine dining venues, 465 verandas, a "Nordic-inspired spa," a swimming pool, a panoramic lounge, libraries and a theater.
The Viking Sun is scheduled to return to London in May 2020.
