President Donald Trump says he didn't try to fire special counsel Robert Mueller.
"Fake news, folks. Fake news. Typical New York Times fake stories," Trump said.
Trump was in Davos, Switzerland, at the World Economic Forum. While walking into the forum on Friday, he denied a New York Times report that claims he ordered the firing of Mueller in June 2017.
The Times says Trump called for sacking Mueller after learning the special counsel might be building an obstruction of justice case against him.
He reportedly backed off when the White House counsel refused to do it and threatened to quit.
