Special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly wants to know if President Donald Trump tried to oust Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
Anonymous sources told The Washington Post that Mueller's team is investigating a period of time last summer when Trump "seemed determined" to push Sessions to resign.
The Post says investigators want to know if Trump's apparent effort to force Sessions out was part of a pattern of attempted obstruction of justice.
Trump's feud with Sessions seems to have started when the attorney general recused himself from the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
Trump wasn't pleased. He called the decision "very unfair to the president."
And he's lashed out at Sessions several times since then. Most recently, Trump criticized his attorney general for the way the Justice Department is investigating possible FBI abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
