Meet London Breed, the very first African American woman to be elected mayor of San Francisco.
Breed won the race Wednesday — more than a week after election day — when her opponent, former state Sen. Mark Leno, conceded.
Breed is set to take office next month and serve as mayor until 2020.
She will finish up the term of the city's late mayor Ed Lee, who died late last year at the age of 65.
Breed served as the president of San Francisco's Board of Supervisors. She is also the second woman ever to be elected mayor of San Francisco.
