Italy's death toll from the coronavirus has reportedly surpassed China's.
On Thursday, Italy's Civil Protection Agency reported a little more than 3,400 deaths related to the virus. According to Johns Hopkins, the number of deaths in China had just surpassed 3,250.
Now, there have been concerns over the reliability of China's data. But if those numbers are accurate, it means Italy has become the epicenter of the outbreak.
Like many other countries in Europe, Italy has been under lockdown as authorities try to slow the spread of the virus. It's unclear how long that lockdown will continue.
Meanwhile, China reported Thursday it had no new domestic cases of the coronavirus for the first time since the outbreak began.
