The Girl Scouts are going to take part in Donald Trump's inaugural parade. In some ways this isn't surprising at all — the organization prides itself on being nonpartisan and teaching young girls the values of democracy and civic engagement. It also has a long history of involvement in presidential inaugurations.
@scATX Since 1917, Girl Scouts have engaged in Presidential inaugural events to learn about the US democratic process & civic engagement.

But many former Girl Scouts, troop leaders and mothers take issue with the decision in light of President-elect Trump's history of bragging about groping women and allegations of sexual assault.
I do not believe that this choice is in keeping with @girlscouts' mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character.

Hey @girlscouts it's weird and disappointing to see you participate in the ceremony of a man who's on camera admitting to sexual assault.

The Girl Scouts said scouts are also welcome to participate in the Women's March on Washington, although the organization won't be participating in an official capacity.
