A Soyuz spacecraft launched from Kazakhstan on Sunday carrying representatives from Russia, Japan and the U.S. They're expected to dock at the space station Tuesday.
The three new crew members will call the ISS home until April, giving them roughly four months to help conduct 250 scientific investigations.
NASA notes those investigations will span a number of fields, including "biology, Earth science, human research, physical sciences and technology development."
