Coming to a bookstore near you — brand-new reads by both Barack and Michelle Obama.
Penguin Random House announced Tuesday it has scored book deals with the former president and the former first lady.
The publisher's CEO said in a statement: "We are absolutely thrilled to continue our publishing partnership with President and Mrs. Obama. With their words and their leadership, they changed the world, and every day, with the books we publish at Penguin Random House, we strive to do the same."
Multiple publishing companies had been competing to make book deals with the Obamas, and Penguin Random House apparently paid a pretty penny to secure them. Several reports say they likely cost tens of millions of dollars.
It's unclear exactly what these new books will be about, but we do know they will reflect on the Obamas' years in the White House.
Penguin Random House's imprints have published several books by the Obamas before, including Michelle's "American Grown," which details her White House kitchen garden, and the former president’s memoirs.
The publisher says a "significant portion" of the books' proceeds will go to charities, including the Obama Foundation.
