Hillary Clinton's email scandal still isn't over.
It looked like it could be over when FBI Director James Comey said this: "We are expressing to Justice our view that no charges are appropriate in this case."
But then the State Department raised its hand for another go at it after pressing pause on its investigation back in April.
The State Department's internal investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state is totally separate from the Justice Department's criminal investigaton.
It's also a bit more vague. In announcing that the State Department was resuming its probe, spokesman John Kirby said, "I cannot provide specific information about the department's review, including what information we are evaluating."
But, of course, he said the department will be "as transparent as possible."

We should note, it's not a surprise the State Department is resuming its investigation — the whole reason it paused in the first place was to avoid interfering with the work the Justice Department was doing.
The State Department has rules for its employees regarding email practices. According to an 83-page report published by the inspector general in May, Clinton didn't follow all of those rules.
So far there's no word on how long the State Department's investigation will last or what type of punishments Clinton could face.
