Attorney General Jeff Sessions might have met with a Russian official in another undisclosed meeting last year — and congressional investigators are reportedly looking into it.
CNN reports investigators are specifically focused on a possible meeting between Sessions and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak that might have taken place in late April 2016.
Both attended a foreign policy speech then-candidate Donald Trump was giving at a Washington, D.C., hotel.
Investigators are reportedly trying to determine if a "private meeting" took place between Sessions and Kislyak that day. But they've also acknowledged to CNN that any contact the two might have had could be completely accidental.
Sessions is already in the hot seat for not revealing during his confirmation hearing to become attorney general that he met with Kislyak at least twice in 2016.
And in May, the Justice Department said Sessions failed to disclose those same meetings when he filled out his security clearance form.
Though, the department acknowledged the FBI employee who handled the background check told Sessions "not to list meetings with foreign dignitaries and their staff connected with his Senate activities."
The department has also denied that Sessions and Kislyak met during Trump's speech.
Sessions has already recused himself from the FBI's ongoing investigation into Russian interference with the 2016 presidential election.
