Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee is dropping out of the 2020 presidential race.
He made the announcement Wednesday on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show."
Inslee said he would still focus on climate change, which was at the center of his campaign. It's a topic he's championed during his two terms as governor, enacting a Clean Energy Fund and passing green transportation infrastructure investment legislation.
On Monday, Inslee said he had reached the 130,000 donor threshold for the next Democratic debate in September.
Democratic candidates Rep. Eric Swalwelland former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper have also dropped out of the 2020 race for the presidency.
