Catholic bishops from across the country are meeting this week to reflect on sexual abuse scandals in the church.
Starting on Wednesday, hundreds of bishops will come together for a seven-day retreat at the Mundelein Seminary near Chicago.
A spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Chicago told the Associated Press the participants will focus on praying, fasting and spiritual lectures, not putting together new policies.
The retreat is yet another move by the Catholic Church to respond to the ongoing clergy sexual abuse scandal.
Last month, Pope Francis decided to cut two cardinals from his group of advisers who are facing allegations related to the scandal.
And the pope is scheduled to meet with bishops from around the world next month to discuss preventing clergy sex abuse.
