Harry and Meghan also got a taste of what their new life will be like. Due to last-minute changes, the two were reportedly led straight to their seats and did not join the royal procession behind the queen.
The couple made several appearances at events over the weekend and were even the guests of honor at the Mountbatten Festival of Music. Meghan visited a school for International Women's Day, while Harry attended the opening of a British racing museum.
In January, the couple announced they would be stepping back from royal duties and splitting their time between the U.K. and North America. Harry later said they had "no other option" because Meghan had been subjected to intense media scrutiny in her role as duchess.
As non-working members of the royal family, Harry and Meghan will no longer use "Royal Highness" titles or receive public funding, along with several other new arrangements. They all go into effect by the end of the month.
